@tyler Durden

Tin can you be more specific about how it does not piece of work. I use it and have no problems, and take non seen any other reports on the forum.

What do y'all want united states to do with your logfile?

Reviving an old thread... hopefully someone can help. I'm using Krypton 17.six on an Android Shield.

A couple of weeks ago, I did a fresh Kodi install. I added the logfile uploader to my setup, and afterwards could not discover any log files anywhere. I know where they are supposed to be, my .kodi/temp directory was empty. I couldn't be sure it was logfile uploader that caused it, as it didn't even occur to me to bank check. Prior to this fresh install, I used logfile uploader all the fourth dimension and had no problems, it worked perfectly.

Not having access to a log file was nagging at me, so I did another fresh install two days agone. Every bit expected, the log files were where they are supposed to be. Then yesterday I ran into an issue with an add-on stopping playback in the middle of watching a movie. This happened several times, so I installed the logfile uploader again and my logs are gone once more. Same equally before, my .kodi/temp is empty. I've tried disabling the uploader, uninstalling it, updating it, reinstalling it, and multiple reboots, and still no logs.

Any ideas what is happening? Is there perchance a manner to manually create one, or some file I can edit or something? I actually don't want to start over again, for the tertiary time in as many weeks. I'd also really similar to get the uploader working again if possible.

Thanks for whatsoever advice.

Getting directly access to the files on a Nvidia Shield is not super piece of cake, only too non super difficult. You'll accept to enable SMB access to the Shield, in that location are plenty of tuts on the Internet on how do accomplish that. In one case that access works, yous can browse your way to the Kodi folders that besides include the log file(s). That mode you tin also manually update the log file to https://paste.kodi.tv .

Hmm... Anything that we should be worried about it existence some not-and then legal addon?

Thanks for your answer.

I've always used a file manager (fx) to access everything on my shield, and never had any issues with accessing the log files manually, until a couple of weeks agone. Everything else in .kodi is at that place and attainable (userdata, addons, etc). Why non the logs, and why simply recently? Besides yes, I have the show hidden files option enabled.

Is at that place a style to get the logs dorsum without yet another fresh kickoff? I tin can check into setting upwardly smb or adb or something, merely I don't sympathise how that would brand the logs reappear? If there's something I'm missing well-nigh all of this, please explain.

The bug I was having yesterday was with the addon for my Plex server. I recollect it just wanted a reboot, it seems fine today.

no idea i'1000 afraid. the log uploader addon merely reads the logfile, it does not have any write/delete functionality.

a new logfile will be created each time yous outset kodi. if no log is created, mayhap some binder permissions got messed up...

I tried this for the first fourth dimension today after restarting Kodi, only the addon tells me the log is also big and needs to be less than 1mb.

How would I trim the log then it can be uploaded?

The log is just a text file - details of where to find it can be found on the wiki debug log (wiki) page (follow the advanced link - department 3 of that folio).

If yous can download it from your device or open information technology in a suitable app, you can then re-create/paste it to the paste sites. If our one is too small, paste.ubuntu.com can accept larger files.

How does the log uploader actually run?

I can go into the add on and select "run", however that doesn't return whatever URL or seem to do anything.

Kodi Leia on Pi-4 running LibreElec. in production with family, and some other one for testing.

Ah, found it.  I was going to my addons, and running from there, it seems it has to be run from the main menu item, which required a fair amount of scrolling to find it.
